Waves – dive in!

24 May 2024 to 5 January 2025

Waves are all around us, although we are only able to perceive some of them directly – e.g. ocean waves, sound waves, seismic waves and light waves. They play an important role in our lives, whether in medicine, communication, navigation or looking at the earth.

The ‘focusTerra’ exhibition invites visitors to explore the meaning, beauty and power of waves in a playful way, with all their senses, through numerous large-scale, colourful illustrations and many hands-on exhibits.

You can listen to the sounds of waves, feel their energy and experiment with them. For example, you can test seismic waves in a laboratory, listen to the sound of a dolphin or measure the radiation of your mobile phone.

Let yourself be carried away and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of waves – in nature, everyday life, art and research.
