If you're planning to visit the HNF on your own or with your family, why not enjoy an informative and entertaining guided tour of the museum highlights? Then you should use HNF’s new multimedia guide, which will take you to 22 highlights in the permanent exhibition over a period of one to two hours.
The selected stations include the Leibniz machine, Enigma, first PC and Avatar Max. Texts, photos and videos on the device provide details of the exhibits, explain how they work and offer entertaining background information. The contents include an interview with Konrad Zuse on the Z11, as well as an advertisement for the "Frauengold" tonic set in a 1950s office.
As you'd expect for a computer museum, the device uses wireless LAN positioning technology to point visitors in the right direction via photos on its display, so no numbers need to be entered at the stations.
A German, English and French version of the multimedia guide can be hired from the HNF information desk at an security deposit (identity card, driving licence).
